Been backwards and forwards quite often in the 90s and 00s to both Jersey and Guernsey on business, but never had time to sight-see, sadly.

Used to deal with Le Riches quite a bit as they were really developing EPOS etc then. Strangely enough, one of the guys we dealt with a lot was called Kevin Keen, no less! Pleasant to talk to but hard as nails business wise.

Be good to go back in my own time one day.

Went there for our honeymoon, flew from Southend airport, probably a lot different these days as it was 54 years ago, Mike & Bernie Winters were performing at one of the night clubs.

Cant help but feel Ashman has fair hair, blue eyes and clicks his heels - his essays would be a thoroughly efficient read mind

OK for a few days, but even a week is too long.

We stayed at the St Brelades Bay Hotel, which was pretty good, but none of the guests seemed to be under 80 except us.

The vineyard is good, and the Jersey Cream liquer is wonderful. Can't get it anywhere on the mainland, which is a bit of a shit.l

You can also do long weekends out of Southend with Easyjet, for a good price.

That'll be St. Ouen's beach (pronounced Won's), which is pretty much the whole west coast.

It has a few eating establishments, Big Verne's, La Bray, El Tico........

It's lovely to park up and wander for miles round the cliffs and every couple of hundred yards is a German fortification which I find interesting.

Worth hiring a car to get around and not expensive.

Ba do weekend deals for 3 nights for the price of 2 in the harbour at St helier in the radisson blu.

I forgotten the name of the place but the big beach on the west coast is a lovely cafe for breakfast. Fill you up before your day if exploring this beautiful place
